In the journey to glory there will be times of suffering as we are learning from God’s Word. What do we do in these hard times that often leads to periods of unbelief and doubt? We turn to the gospel and remind ourselves and others of who God is, what He has done, and what He promises that He will do. Rom. 15:15; 1 Cor. 4:17; 15:1; 2Cor. 10:7; 2Pet. 1:12-13; 3:1; Jude 5
o Remember who God is. “I am the LORD”! vs. 6a, 8c
God has made promises that He has and is fulfilling through His deliver. The Patriarchs knew the name of the LORD, but they didn’t know the meaning of His name. God is now revealing it to Moses to say to His people. Consider the seven “I wills” of God in this passage and how it leads you to what the love of God has done through Jesus Christ for you. The seven I wills are brought under four basic promises.
1. God has liberated you and He will liberate you! vs.6b
2. God has redeemed you and He is redeeming you! vs. 6c
3. God has adopted you and His love will not change for you! vs.7
4. God has an inheritance for you, and He will give it to you! vs.8a
o Don’t Reject God’s salvation. vs. 9-13 The “I wills” of salvation lead to an “I won’t” from God’s people. Praise God that His love and faithfulness is unchanging! All the promises of God find their yes and amen in Christ Jesus! 2Cor. 1:20 “Every “I will” of divine promise ends up as an “I did” of gospel deliverance. God has not forgotten who you are.
